RCTC is applying for state grants for two projects that are important to our region — the Metrolink Double Track Project: Moreno Valley-Perris Project and the Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway Project. The projects will expand travel choices, increase safety, enhance passenger rail options, improve traffic flow, support our growing population and economy, and boost access to jobs and education throughout Riverside County and the region.

Metrolink Double Track Project: Moreno Valley-Perris

The Metrolink Double Track Project: Moreno Valley-Perris Project will add a second set of tracks between the Moreno Valley/March Field Station and Control Point Nuevo. The project will offer an alternative to driving on Interstate 215, increase access to jobs and education in this traditionally underserved area, reduce air pollution, and help Metrolink achieve its goal of providing bidirectional service every 30 minutes in time for the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics.

Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway

The Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway Project will improve 8.6 miles of roadway in the County of Riverside near two of the fastest-growing communities in the region, Perris and San Jacinto. The enhanced corridor will improve safety, open economic opportunities, reduce travel times, and expand access to employment and education. The improvements will promote transportation equity for this long-underserved area and provide access to multiple modes of travel with connections to Route 79, I-215, and transit facilities that support Metrolink’s 91/Perris Valley Line and Riverside Transit Agency routes. This project will reduce the high rate of collisions along Ramona Expressway by implementing safety improvements.
