The Point: Metrolink will restore six trains that serve Riverside County starting Monday, April 4

Next month typically brings us April Fools’ Day, Earth Day, and locally, Metrolink’s new service schedule. This year’s spring schedule update feels both bittersweet and exciting, due to COVID-related challenges during the last two years.

Starting Monday, April 4, Metrolink will be restoring service to a number of trains that were suspended during the pandemic and adding new service. Riders soon will have more options to hit the beach, visit downtown Los Angeles, explore downtown Riverside and Corona, or even take a weekday stroll through trendy Fullerton.

Whether you are heading back to the office or just looking to escape the indoors, Metrolink’s schedule change is particularly exciting for Riverside County residents and visitors. Metrolink will be restoring four trains on the Riverside Line, adding two trains to 91/Perris Valley Line, and making minor adjustments to existing train schedules to better accommodate service transfers.
