The Riverside County Transportation Commission’s 71/91 Interchange Project will require nightly full closures (Monday through Wednesday) of the eastbound 91 beginning Monday, October 16, 2023 through Tuesday, November 29, 2023.

These closures will allow crews to safely construct support structures and place beams for the new eastbound 91 to northbound 71 connector. Crews will build a 30 foot tall structure over the 91 and set more than 200 beams over the eastbound and westbound 91 lanes.

Additional nighttime lane reductions, 91 Express Lanes closures in Riverside County, ramp closures, and connector closures will occur Thursday — Sunday nights. Full westbound 91 closures will be scheduled in late 2023 to allow crews to build the structure over westbound 91.

The following closures will be scheduled:

Eastbound travelers should use northbound 57 to eastbound 60 to southbound 71 to eastbound 91 to reach eastbound destinations. Motorists may also use the eastbound 91 at Green River Rd. to Palisades Dr. to Serfas Club Dr. to reenter the eastbound 91. Expect heavy traffic delays.

Residents should expect traffic congestion on streets near the 91 and 71 and should plan for extra time to reach local destinations. Fire, police, and ambulance services will have access to emergency response. During these closures, heavy traffic delays are expected for motorists traveling on the 91 and 71 through Corona.
