Regional Connections
The Traffic Relief Plan (TRP) is a comprehensive strategy to repair roads, reduce congestion, complete long-needed freeway projects, and improve safe, reliable travel options across Riverside County. A better-connected Riverside County will expand access to jobs, schools, and services for small and rural communities that currently rely on long or inefficient travel paths.
Creating new multi-modal travel corridors that connect parts of Riverside County will relieve congestion on existing highways and local roads, reduce commute times, and provide faster and safer alternatives to today’s limited routes.
Examples of new regional connections include:
- Extending Avenue 50 between I-10 and State Route 86 in the Coachella Valley
- State Route 79 Realignment
- Elsinore-Ethanac Expressway
- I-10 Bypass between Banning and Cabazon
