En español

The Traffic Relief Plan (TRP) is a comprehensive strategy for tackling the unique transportation challenges and opportunities in Riverside County. First approved by RCTC in 2020 and updated in 2024, the TRP builds on years of listening to the transportation needs of our resident. The TRP will help improve mobility in communities across Riverside County.

From west, east, southwest, and beyond, the TRP includes much needed investments in Riverside County highways, streets, public transportation, and more. Identified projects include everything from pothole repairs and reduced cut-through traffic to expanded bike lanes and hiking trails — and everything in between. These updates build upon RCTC’s previously approved 2020 TRP.

Explore how the TRP will make transportation better in your community.

A PLAN FOR A COUNTY THAT KEEPS GROWING

Time is valuable. No one should spend hours in traffic just to get where they need to go.

With investments identified for faster-flowing freeways, expanded public transportation, safer local streets, pothole repair, and infrastructure for bicycling and walking, the TRP is designed to serve the needs of residents across the Riverside County.

As Riverside County continues to grow, with hundreds of thousands of new residents expected in the coming decades, the TRP focuses on getting ahead of that growth and building a transportation system that works now and into the future.
